Meet our Principal
Lacy Lefkowitz
Ms. Lefkowitz is thrilled to join the Think College Now community as principal. Ms. Lefkowitz began her career at Claremont Middle School in 2007 as a history teacher, with a focus on project based learning, systematizing writing instruction and social emotional learning. She was promoted to Dean and then Assistant Principal, where she supported students and staff in building sustainable, equitable systems that increased student and community engagement, restorative justice and decreased interruptions to classroom learning. Most recently Ms. Lefkowitz served as the instructional coach and acting principal at Grass Valley Elementary School, leading creative enrollment initiatives and supporting gains in student literacy!
Originally from Upstate New York, Ms. Lefkowitz attended public schools from Kindergarten through her Master’s degree. She currently lives in Oakland with her husband and two children. When she’s not working, she enjoys exploring new places, walking Lake Merritt, making lists, and finding balance.
Ms. Lefkowitz believes that all students can achieve great things. She is excited to leverage the collective genius of our community to ensure that all students realize their full potential - academically, socially and otherwise. Ms. Lefkowitz is grateful to join a team of dedicated educators and families who are focused on preparing all students to succeed in college and beyond!
